There are various ways through which our natural resources become unfit for use. Water bodies are being constantly polluted all over the worlds by various dangerous chemical and biological wastes. Water pollution is a major concern in the third world countries. The most common factors that contribute to the contamination of water would be sewage, radioactive wastes, improper disposal of waste on land, and many more. Land pollution, in other words, means degradation of earth’s surface and soil, directly or indirectly as a result of human activities are conducted citing development, and the same affects the land drastically we witness land pollution; by drastic we are referring to any activity that lessens the quality and productivity of the land as an ideal place for agriculture, forestation, construction etc.
Air pollution affects a far larger number of people than water or land pollution do. It is an unwanted change in the quality of earth’s atmosphere caused by emission of gases due to burning of fossil fuels, out pouring of ashes and gases from the particulate matter due to soil erosion. Polluted air contains CO2, CO, NO2, SMP, SO2 and oxides of lead. Excessive rise of gases and chemical pollute air. These are all poisonous gases which cause incurable diseases like lungs cancer, pneumoconiosis, etc.
Apart from degradation of natural resources, dramatic changes in the climate are occurring all around the world and causing more frequent natural disasters and serious problems for people’s health. This situation, called climate change or global warming, is really a group of environmental problems including deforestation, increased pollution of our water and air, and loss of wildlife. These problems cause small increases in the planet’s temperature that lead to big, permanent changes in the climate. Changes in the climate cause disasters that affect people everywhere. Severe storms and floods destroy homes and crops, drought leads to famine, and insects and animals spread disease when they move to new places because of changing weather.
The situation demands of measures for creating awareness for help people to adapt the climate change. Climate change mitigation and adaptation involves making adjustments in our decisions, activities and thinking because of observed or expected changes in climate, in order to moderate harm or take advantage of new opportunities. This is done to create energy efficiency improvement and promotion of environment friendly activities.
