Generally, people tend to neglect the theory of global warming. Is it just a myth or a fact? Unfortunately, global warming is real. According to detailed studies conducted by scientists over the years, a significant rise in the average global temperature has been observed. In the last 50 years, this rise has occurred at the fastest rate as compared to any climatic change ever occurred in the history of the planet. Moreover, the effects from global warming are unceasingly accelerating.
The staple cause of global warming is the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect refers to the increased amassing of harmful greenhouse gasses, carbon dioxide, and air pollutants. These gasses tend to absorb the solar radiations reflecting from the surface of the earth and the pollutants keep the radiations trapped within the atmosphere for many years, even centuries. Hence, the temperature of the planet tends to rise because of the ambushed heat in the atmosphere.
The consequences of global warming are alarming. There are many threats to the environment, the world economy, health, and sustainability of the planet’s resources. The glaciers are melting causing a gradual increase in the sea levels. This can be the cause of severe droughts, drinking water shortages, etc. the rise of sea level is also supposed to disrupt lives around coastal areas. There is also a great threat to the agriculture industry. a misbalanced ecology will lead to heavy downpours, uncertain weather, heat waves, etc. in regards to our health, many allergic and infectious diseases will become common. The condition may worsen if we make it too late to act. The utmost need of the hour is an active participation towards earth care measure, globally. In India, we are witnessing various measures working towards earth care environmental India. An increased awareness towards the problem and innovative ideas to combat the effects of global warming can greatly dismiss the problem.
